Assistant Director of Basic Needs ·

- Do you have experience accessing and evaluating student resources and creating an integrated approach to basic needs?
- Are you excited about mentoring and supervising student volunteers?
The Assistant Director for Basic Needs collaborates with employees, students, and community organizations to build a network of supports to assist under-resourced students by leveraging existing college supports and personnel and community resources. The incumbent coordinates opportunities for cross-training among existing services and designs and implements new programming. The incumbent will also process all Basic Needs referrals and is responsible for locating and applying for grant funding. This position is directly supervised by the Director of Student Care and Case Management within the Office of the Dean of Students
Primary Duties:·
- Evaluate student resources and create a plan to address under-resourced student needs
- Apply for grant funding individually and in partnership with the University’s development office
- Increase awareness and advocate for student basic needs
- Serve as primary case manager for Care Team Basic Needs referrals
- Train and supervise student volunteers who work for the CommUnity Shop
