The Lovett School, an independent K-12 day school in Atlanta, GA, seeks an Assistant Director of Annual Giving to support the School’s annual giving program, the True Blue Fund, which accounts for a critical $3 million of the School’s annual operating budget. The True Blue Fund relies on more than 200 volunteers, and the annual giving team is responsible for managing and engaging a volunteer structure that is instrumental to the campaign’s success. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving will work alongside the Director of Annual Giving to ensure the success of The True Blue Fund.
Reports to: Director of Annual Giving

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in implementing the yearly annual giving operating plan
  • Supports the Director of Annual Giving in:
    • Articulating and consistently communicating the annual giving case for support
    • Targeting, segmenting, soliciting, acknowledging, and recognizing annual giving donors and prospective donors
    • Drafting annual giving solicitations and acknowledgements
    • Ensuring timely and accurate acknowledgement of annual giving contributions
    • Manages non-leadership annual giving volunteers and leads solicitation for alumni and faculty staff campaigns
    • Manages, updates, and writes content for the Volunteer Management System utilized by leadership and parent volunteers
    • Assists the Director of Annual Giving to prepare regular annual giving reports for internal and external audiences and uses data to inform or adapt strategy. In coordination with advancement services, generates and updates Raiser’s Edge queries, exports, reports, and metrics to track progress towards True Blue goals
    • Collaborates with the Annual Giving Director to ensure coordinated efforts on behalf of True Blue for all constituencies
    • Oversees the execution of all solicitation mailings
    • Engages in activities school-wide to increase knowledge and enhance True Blue’s presence in the community.
    • Research trends in the independent day school field, additional outreach and stewardship strategies, in coordination with the Director of Annual Giving, to grow annual giving and, as appropriate, help lead implementation of those strategies.
    • Assists in planning and execution of stewardship events for True Blue volunteers and donors.

Position Requirements: 

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and manage high-level volunteers
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail and follow through required.
  • High level of customer service and responsiveness to stakeholders
  • Ability to work as a team member, display positive behaviors, and take initiative
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and at least 3 to 4 years of progressive experience in the field of development
  • At various times the employee is required to work outside of regular business hours for various job-related functions. The employee will receive as much advance notification as possible for these events and is required to attend them as part of their essential duties
  • Sound judgment relating to confidential school, financial, or student matters, including effective communication regarding such matters to the appropriate individuals
