Districtwide EMT/Paramedic Clinical Coordinator
Job Summary
Coordinate clinical education, with multiple clinical facilities/sites ensuring student compliance and electronic health record requirements are met; support program accreditation processes
Essential Functions
- Coordinate the assignment of students to clinical and field internship sites, ensure documentation of the evaluation and progression of clinical performance and coordinate required student and faculty trainings prior to start of clinical rotation(s); provide proof of student and faculty compliance in accordance with clinical agency agreement(s).Ensure students and faculty meet all health care facility contractual compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain clinical agency relationships. Conduct and document clinical site visits.
- Track preceptor feedback of student performance. Address issues of competency or affective domain evaluation with the student as outlined by accrediting body.Communicate performance concerns with program chair and medical director if needed.
- Work with course faculty to continuously improve clinical experience processes for course faculty, students, and clinical partners. Identify current emerging clinical EMT/ Paramedic education trends and opportunities to develop and maintain visionary and responsive clinical experiences and communicating proposed changes to supervisor, program chair, medical director, and advisory committee.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health related field and two years of related work experience in an educational institution or a health-related field working within the EMS field OR Associates degree in health-related field and four years of related work experience in an educational institution or a health-related field working within the EMS field.Current Paramedic Certificate.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage time.
- Ability to interact effectively, professionally, and impartially with diverse populations.Knowledge of current software applications including Microsoft Office.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous professional experience at a community college.Experience leading EMS training.
- Ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from students, faculty, preceptors, regulatory agencies and/or members of the academic or business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to students, faculty, academic leaders, corporate leaders, and public groups.
- Knowledge and experience with database management and spreadsheets.
