AA&D is comprised of the University Development Office (UDO), Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Development, AA&D Resources, the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA), and the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

As a member of the AA&D Business Process and Operations team this full-time, non-exempt position will support the infrastructure of the Resources Department by providing ongoing user support and training, fulfilling data and reporting needs, and maintaining current business practices.

Position Description
This position supports the day-to-day functions of assigned teams, including FAS Gift Planning, FAS Direct Response Marketing, and FAS Donor Relations. He/she is responsible for managing selected timelines, preparing Ad Hoc requests, executing staff trainings, and overseeing the collection and input of data. This person is responsible for keeping projects and tasks up to date in Workfront and will assist the Senior Business Process Analyst(s) in prioritizing and fulfilling requests.
  • Supports day-to-day business process functions and responds to staff requests for assigned teams.
  • Assists Senior Business Process Analyst(s) with the development, testing, and marketing of reporting applications and other technologies.
  • Attends monthly ATSS LPM meetings and represents assigned Unit/teams.
  • Trains staff on Advance policies and procedures as well as all reporting applications.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Business Process Analyst(s) coordinates the fulfillment of ad-hoc data requests.
  • Assists in the creation, implementation and evaluation of training plans and materials. Prepares and maintains data for use in selected projects.
  • Oversees requests from staff for mass uploading of data (appeal headers, appeal recipient rows, proposals, assignments, gift clubs, mailing lists, tasks, contact reports, etc.).
  • Conducts regular data audits of Advance data and communicates best practices to staff as needed.
  • Maintains assigned projects and tasks in Workfront.
  • May be responsible for overseeing the work of students and interns employed by the AA&D Operations team.
  • May fulfill Coordinator responsibilities across FAS Operations team as needed.

Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years' full-time work experience in university fundraising or transferable experience.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL as well as standard Microsoft Office tools
  • Familiar with best practices related to the software development life cycle
  • Must have an even disposition and be able to deal effectively and politely with all people from all types of backgrounds and experience and in all types of situations.
  • Must be conscious of data security and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate problems accurately and display sound judgment.
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be collaborative, conscientious, and results oriented.
  • Must exhibit great attention to detail and can produce clear documentation.

Work Format Details
This position is eligible for 100% remote work. Employees may work from any of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.

This position is remote, but it may be subject to change due to any operational adjustments in the department.
