Job Description
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking applicants for their position of Office Support Assistant IV.
The mission of Multicultural Student Affairs is to enhance and improve the college experience for students by creating opportunities for inclusive engagement, cultivating academic success, and sense of belonging.
The Office Support Assistant IV is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Multicultural Student Affairs, limited support to full-time staff members and assists the Director in oversight of the department's fiscal activities and management of the day-to-day operations of the department. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director and has daily responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour commensurate on education, experience, and internal equity.

Job Description
The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking applicants for their position of Office Support Assistant IV.

The Office Support Assistant IV is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Multicultural Student Affairs, limited support to full-time staff members and assists the Director in oversight of the department's fiscal activities and management of the day-to-day operations of the department. The Administrative Assistant reports to the Director and has daily responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
- Opening and closing the MSA Office
- Staffing main reception desk and functions of MSA & AAHCH
- Interacting with and assisting students and visitors
- Hiring, training, and supervision of 8 work-study staff (shared responsibility with Assistant Director)
- Managing and scheduling coverage for the front desk (in their absence)
- Maintaining space reservations for the MSA Lounge, Village and Culture House
- Administrative, HR paperwork and fiscal duties, ordering & restocking supplies, Campus facilities maintenance requests & IT work orders, manage staff work schedules.
- Managing the Multicultural Student Affairs general email account, daily visitor sign-in list, and main phone line.
- General staff committee appointments.
- Representing Multicultural Student Affairs at recruitment events for student staff positions
- Organization and planning of departmental celebrations
- Light office maintenance
- Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years progressively responsible office and customer service experience.
- The ideal candidate will be a highly energetic people person with creativity and personal initiative. Should possess good written and verbal skills, a commitment to students, and possesses strong computer skills.
