Honors Program Graduate AssistantTemporary Position Summary
The Honors Program Graduate Assistant position will support the Director of the Honors Program in providing advisement and assistance to students applying for prestigious fellowships opportunities, and in preparation for student conference presentations.Will work a schedule of 10 hours per week.
Temporary Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and Manage Digital Campaigns: Design and implement digital marketing strategies to promote the program's initiatives, events, and partnerships across social media platforms, newsletters, and other digital channels.
- Build and Maintain Web Pages: Develop and update web pages to reflect ongoing projects, student achievements, and program information, ensuring a user-friendly and engaging online presence.
- Content Creation and Editing: Write, edit, and optimize content for digital platforms, including blogs, event recaps, and informational pages that align with the program's goals and partnerships.
- Promote Program Partnerships: Highlight and publicize programming partnerships through digital content, showcasing collaborative projects, events, and opportunities.
- Event Promotion and Support: Create promotional materials for program events and partnerships, managing digital assets like flyers, banners, and multimedia content.
- Collaborate on Cross-Disciplinary Initiatives: Work with partners to integrate and publicize interdisciplinary projects that connect the honors program with other departments or external collaborators.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Track engagement metrics for digital campaigns, providing insights on campaign effectiveness and areas for improvement.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor's degree required, must be currently enrolled in a graduate program.Must possess excellent writing and proofreading skills. Experience working closely with people from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds. This position requires strong customer service focus, and time management skills. Professional demeanor with the ability to interface with internal and external customers with diplomacy and tact is essential. Independent judgment is necessary to plan, prioritize and organize a work. Must be detail oriented.
Excellent oral communication skills are required for interacting and assisting students, parents, employees and the general public in one-on-one or group situations. Also, must be able to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
This work requires the ability to perform intermediate level computer skills using the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the ability to manage various social media platforms. In addition to producing correspondence, duties may involve assignments that require creating fliers, forms, and spreadsheets using formulas, plus the use of Outlook, internet navigation and the ability to learn and properly utilize various software platforms necessary to fulfill the duties of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in academic advising is a plus.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and data collection preferred.
- Experience working in a teaching/tutoring environment preferred.
- Familiarity with fellowship programs is a plus.
- Demonstrated successful experience conducting presentations, and workshops preferred.
