The South Southwest Prevention Technology Transfer Center (SSW PTTC) housed in the Southwest Prevention Center, has an opening for a Building Our Leadership and Diversity (BOLD) Fellow who will report to the PTTC Co- Director. The BOLD Fellowship Program is focused on increasing the number of prevention scientists working within historically marginalized communities. Fellows will focus on meeting the prevention needs of the Black/African American community. BOLD Fellows will receive mentorship from prevention staff at their assigned placement and will be exposed to the day-to-day workings of the site. Fellows will work on projects as assigned by their placement approximately 55% of the time and will dedicate the other 45% of their time to learning and capacity development activities coordinated by the Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC) network. This is a two-year fellowship, with the second year available as an optional extension.
The PTTC Network is to improve implementation and delivery of effective substance misuse prevention interventions and provide training and technical assistance services to the substance misuse prevention field. It does this by developing and disseminating tools and strategies needed to improve the quality of substance misuse prevention efforts; providing intensive technical assistance and learning resources to prevention professionals in order to improve their understanding of prevention science, epidemiological data, and implementation of evidence-based and promising practices; and, developing tools and resources to engage the next generation of prevention professionals.
Duties:
- Plans and oversees high quality implementation of project goals and objectives in partnership with the PTTC Co-Director, Placement Site Coordinator, and Prevention Mentor.
- Ensures compliance with the BOLD program's agreements.
- Prepares reports and completes work within deadlines
- Plans and coordinates program events.
- Analyze information from different sources to problem solve
- Performs related duties as assigned or as required to successfully fulfill functions of the position
This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and is a term-limited fellowship that will end on September 29, 2025, with an option for a one year renewal.
Job Requirements

Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor Degree, AND:
- 48 months of related experience.
Equivalent/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree to equal 96 months of related experience.
Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
- Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications
- Strong organizational, participation, and facilitation skills
- Able to interpret guidance and instruction from state and regional partners
Certifications:
- Valid Drivers License to attend meetings and trainings
Advertised Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to communicate effectively, engage in repetitive motions, reach and sit.
Department Preferences:
- Preference will be given to those who are recent college graduates or early career professionals with experience in substance misuse prevention.
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience working or volunteering in Black/African American communities.
- Master's degree in related field and additional 12 months management/supervisory or leadership of community programs.
