Position Description
Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers, and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
The Faculty Coordinator at the School of Medicine in the Permian Basin is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the faculty within the clinical department. This role involves coordinating faculty-related activities, managing schedules, assisting with academic and research projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of faculty administrative functions.

Required Qualifications
High school graduation plus five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience; additional related education may be exchanged for required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in education, healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience in academic or healthcare administration is preferred.
    • Experience supporting faculty or executives in a similar administrative role is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and electronic health record (EHR) systems and MedHub.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage complex administrative tasks.
    • Knowledge of academic and research processes is preferred.
