POSITION: Assistant Professor of Practice in Educational Leadership (School Law/Policy and
Research Methodology)
Stetson University seeks a broadly prepared and experienced educational leader to enhance our program's focus on preparing building-level administrators in the key areas of class, gender, and culture in 21st-century K-12 education. The candidate should be able to integrate technology into their teaching and teach core courses in educational leadership, with a focus on district or school- based school law/policy and research methodology. The candidate should be skilled in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Additionally, the candidate must contribute to the growth of our graduate programs and actively engage in the evolving field of educational leadership preparation. They should also leverage the strengths of the university's academic programs in liberal arts and sciences, business, law, and counseling. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track,
Assistant Professor of Practice position beginning in August 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The preferred candidate will have

  1. an earned doctorate from an accredited university with a focus on educational leadership, law/policy, curriculum and instruction, or a closely related field;
  2. leadership experience in a K-12 setting;
  3. knowledge and understanding of diverse populations; and
  4. proficiency in data analysis and educational research methodology.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The annual teaching load is equivalent to 4 courses in the Fall and 4 courses in the Spring, with the potential option for additional teaching opportunities during the Summer term. The successful candidate will

  1. teach graduate-level courses in educational leadership, particularly those that focus on law/policy, school-based research and research methodology at our campuses in DeLand and Gulfport, Florida;
  2. teach in our Educational Specialist graduate online program in Curriculum and Instruction;
  3. supervise graduate internships, practicums, and research;
  4. advise students;
  5. assist with state and national certification and accreditation requirements, including data gathering and analysis;
  6. contribute to the growth of our graduate programs; and (
  7. take an active role in partnerships with our local school systems.

THE COLLEGE OF ARTS AND SCIENCES:
Stetson's College of Arts and Sciences (http://www.stetson.edu/portal/artsci/) is the largest and most diverse of the University's colleges and schools; it includes the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, education, and creative arts. THE COMMUNITY:
DeLand is a picturesque residential community of 38,000 located 20 miles west of Daytona
Beach and 35 miles northeast of Orlando. The area offers extensive cultural as well as recreational activities.

SALARY: Salary is competitive.
