Assistant Professor of Physics
Illinois College invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, and Engineering department with a primary focus on teaching introductory physics, to begin in Fall 2025.
Responsibilities include teaching the introductory physics sequence and courses for engineering, such as Statics and Dynamics, based on the candidate’s expertise. Additional duties involve engaging in curriculum development, student recruitment and retention efforts, and supporting the department’s growing research initiatives. The ideal candidate will also oversee lab equipment, assist with ABET accreditation processes, and participate in collaborative research projects with students. A commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion is essential, aligning with Illinois College's mission to increase representation in traditionally underrepresented groups within STEM.
Master’s degree in Physics or Engineering required; Ph.D. or ABD preferred.
