Job Description Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow with a strong background in pancreatic cancer research in vitro and in vivo mouse models. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative and dynamic research environment focused on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying pancreatic cancer. This position offers the opportunity to engage in innovative research, develop new models, and publish in high-impact journals.

Job Duties
Research Overview: Design and conduct experiments and interpret data under the mentorship of the Principal Investigator (PI).
- Work independently and collaboratively on research projects.
- Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of pancreatitis with a focus on (specify key focus, e.g., pathophysiology, molecular signaling pathways, inflammation).
- Perform molecular and cell biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extractions, RT-PCR, immunoblot analysis, immunofluorescence staining and tissue culture.
- Assist with development of grant proposals, including applicable fellowship award applications and NIH R01 applications.
- Maintain a current Laboratory Notebook, documenting all calculations, work, experiments, and other pertinent research information.
- Read literature articles, develop new ideas, and assimilate the information into his/her project design/interpretation.
- Dissemination of studies: Interact on a regular basis with their PI, faculty mentor and members of the laboratory to discuss experimental design and interpretation of results.
- Present research aims and findings at department seminars and at local and national scientific meetings. Write and publish their results as first author in abstracts, manuscripts, and posters.

Required Qualifications
Education: Ph.D. in (Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or related field).
Work Experience:
- Proven expertise in pancreatitis research, with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
- Experience in relevant laboratory techniques (e.g., cell culture, animal models, molecular biology techniques, etc.).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- A cover letter detailing research experience and career goals.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
