Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
As the most extensive collegiate dance program in Georgia, the KSU Department of Dance offers a B.A. in Dance with concentrations in ballet and modern dance, and a minor in Dance. KSU Dance employs 18 full/part-time faculty, and is housed in state-of-the-art dance facilities, including metropolitan Atlanta's only Dance Theater. The KSU Dance Company has received top honors at the American College Dance Association and has been invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in five national years.
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Dance in the Department of Dance with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching undergraduate courses in all levels of jazz dance technique and additional courses, including but not limited to contemporary/modern technique, choreography, improvisation, and lecture courses on topics such as Dance and Society
- Departmental and College-level service commitments such as organizing co-curricular activities, curricular development, program recruitment, and committee work
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of an earned MA or MFA, or the foreign equivalent, in dance or a related field is required.
- A minimum of two years collegiate teaching experience, along with an established record of professional experience in the field
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching and commitment to teaching practices and student success
