Lecturer of Mathematics
The University of Mary Washington invites applications for a renewable term appointment as a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics, beginning August 16, 2025. Candidates must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related discipline, with the degree completed by August 15, 2025. We seek an individual to teach introductory and lower-level courses in mathematics and statistics.
Highly qualified candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, high-impact learning, and active engagement with students from diverse backgrounds in an inclusive and supportive environment. Applicants should be dedicated to fostering student success through innovative pedagogical methods that integrate technology and active learning techniques in the classroom. The ability to inspire curiosity and critical thinking in students, in alignment with UMW's liberal arts mission, is essential. The normal teaching load is 12 credit hours, with 2 to 3 preparations per semester. There are also expectations for ongoing professional development aimed at enhancing teaching effectiveness, fostering a commitment to pedagogical innovation, and participating in departmental, college, and university-wide service.
