What You'll Do:
The Senior Web Optimization and Personalization Specialist will be expected to manage customer journeys and personalization efforts throughout WGU's web strategy! In this role, you will report directly to our Manager of Web Operations and work with key leaders across the department to develop and track website goals and key metrics. You will work closely with team members in our marketing department to determine strategy and key metrics to further the student journey and ensure every experience across the site is driving the user through their journey. You will independently lead the optimization strategy from defining hypotheses, through conducting traffic and conversion analysis, collaborating with teams to ensure content is optimized and strategy is implemented.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Work with a team to manage a personalized web experience for return visitors.
Work with the user experience and testing team to plan, implement, and analyze new experiences for users on the WGU website.
Monitor content across the site and brainstorm ideas to optimize pages, experiences and flows toward key metrics.
Understand the customer journey and categorize page purposes based on that journey.
Be the lead on accessibility and DE&I efforts for the web to enhance student journeys.
Manage relationships with SEO, Website, and Paid teams to help match audience targeting with correct calls to action and journey progression.
Monitor page analytics and work with analytics team to understand users and their behaviors.
Optimize current pages as well as approving future pages and their purposes.
Work with senior stakeholders to help explain personalization, get ideas for future tests, etc.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities You'll Need to be Successful:
4+ years of in-house or agency experience within a successful web business, driving conversion improvements, SEO performance and content management.
Understanding of personalization strategy and Adobe Target or other personalization software.
Ability to use web analytics for driving improvement ideas from customer journey insights.
Experience with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely, Adobe Audience Manager or other related software programs.
Proven track record of driving successful outcomes in optimizing customer journeys and improving conversion rates on site.
Demonstrate understanding of content strategies tactics.
Knowledge and experience with conversion rate optimization.
Strong analytical skills, strong data skills and experience with analytics platforms.
Strong communication skills and a creative mindset.
Strong testing background with a mindset to always be testing.
Ability to use personalization software and track and report on campaign performance.
Team player with an attitude of collaboration with other teams.
What is Required:
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with analytics
5+ years of experience with a CMS such as AEM
Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of personalization and testing tools such as Adobe Target
Working knowledge of HTML or markdown a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:
