Job Description

The purpose of this role is to advise ASISU on budgeting, by-laws, ASISU policies and procedures, and ISU policies and procedures. It also serves a similar function in student leadership and engagement and is responsible for all financial transactions that flow through the Student Leadership and Engagement office, including reconciling transactions, handling cash, processing accounting transactions, etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise/mentor/train ASISU financial leadership regarding ASISU policies, procedures and by-laws, and ISU policies and procedures
  • Advise/mentor/train student club financial leadership (students and faculty) regarding ASISU policies and procedures and ISU policies and procedures
  • Advise ASISU in legislating and developing annual budgets according to ASISU by-laws, policies, and procedures, as well as ISU policies and procedures
  • Serve as liaison between ASISU financial leadership and the line item departments that ASISU funds
  • Mentor ASISU Director of Finance and ASISU finance committee chair as an expert on ASISU financial policies and procedures and develop ongoing training to support these roles
  • Serve as liaison between ASISU and the Office of Student Engagement and the Dean of Students office as needed for all financial matters, as well as ongoing policy and procedure development
  • Proactively monitor processes and systems for opportunities for efficiencies and improvements
  • Process and reconcile club and ASISU financial transactions, including deposits, change boxes, expenses, advances, and reimbursements
  • Assist clubs with TouchNet store set-up and maintenance
  • Supervise student workers in day-to-day activities and year-long projects
  • The ability to work a regular schedule consistent with the needs of the university is an essential function of this position.
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a minimum six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered)
  • At least one year (1) technical experience working with and supporting financial systems such as PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.
  • Proficiency in computer-based applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Docs) and Internet resources
  • At least one year (1) supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multitasking and task prioritization abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Proficiency in interpreting and administering complex policies and procedures
Additional Information

Salary will be between $50,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
