Job Description
The University of Missouri-Kansas City, School of Dentistry seeks a non-tenure-track faculty Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor or tenure-eligible Assistant/Associate Professor for the position of Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program (AEGD Residency). This is a 12-month benefit-eligible position which provides opportunity for ranked or tenure-track/tenured promotion. Start date is upon hire or by negotiation. Our academic workloads and schedules promote a positive work/life balance.
Specific responsibilities will concentrate on all aspects of the didactic and clinical training of AEGD residents. These will include, but are not limited to: the coordination of all resident didactic curriculum and seminars, the organization and preparation of curriculum, administrative responsibilities including compliance with accreditation standards and reporting, supervisory responsibilities, and clinical coordination of resident training. Prior experience in dental education and/or additional education such as a graduate degree (MS) can be helpful. There are potential opportunities for research and clinical practice for the qualified candidate.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a DMD/DDS degree (or equivalent) and completed an AEGD or General Practice (GPR) Residency. Eligibility for the appropriate Missouri Dental licensure is required https://pr.mo.gov/dental.asp.
In addition to the above, candidates for a tenure-eligible appointment should demonstrate potential for or provide evidence of research and scholarly activity, and demonstrated service to the profession and/or participation in local, state or national professional organizations.
Anticipated Hiring Range
The salary is negotiable, competitive and commensurate with rank, qualifications, experience, success in scholarship/research, and internal equity.
