The Inventory Associate position provides professional and academic support related to the daily operations for the stockroom in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. This position ensures continuous operation of all related to purchasing, warehouse operations, customer service, shipping, receiving, inventory control, hazardous waste collection, record keeping on campus deliveries and other materials management duties as assigned.
Duties:
- Monitors inventory levels to identify inventory requiring replacement. Receives, monitors and tracks inventory.
- Prepares daily, monthly, or annual inventory expense reports.
- Maintains the inventory stockroom in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Provides administrative assistance by answering telephone, greeting departmental visitors, meet vendors and making deliveries.
- Participate in staff meetings, committees, and special projects. May provide information regarding ordering procedures and types of supplies, inventory, and equipment available for use.
- Evaluate all process and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements to increase efficiency of the operation. Continuously improves the organization of required inventory.
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements

Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
- 24 months experience in inventory control and/or material management, procurement or closely related experience.
Skills:
- Working knowledge of an inventory control system.
- Ability to prepare reports in a timely manner.
- Ability to monitor and track shipment of equipment and supplies.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Customer service and interpersonal skills.
Certifications:
- Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.

- Communicate effectively and listen.
- Reach, stoop, bend, and walk.
- Use of a computer and calculator.
- Lift up to 80 pounds.
- Standard Office Environment.
