The Boston College Master's Program in Mental Health Counseling in the Lynch School of Education and Human Development (LSEHD) at Boston College invites applications for a part time instructor for our Impact of Psychosocial Issues on Learning course that will meet Tuesdays 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM for the Spring 2025 semester (January 13, 2025 - May 9, 2025). The course, described below, is a required course in our 2-year master's degree program:

Course Description

This course examines, from a holistic perspective, psychological and social issues that impact learning for children and adolescents. We will discuss the role of risk and protective factors in the development of vulnerability and resilience. This course highlights the collaboration between educators and professionals involved in addressing psychological and social issues in youth.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling is required; PhD or PsyD in Counseling Psychology or a closely related field preferred.
  • Prior teaching experience will be valued highly.
