Responsibilities
Phlebotomy Instructors provide didactic learning and practical skills instruction under the direction of the Program Director. The instructor's main responsibilities include: Presenting full lectures to classrooms or mini-demonstrations on practical skills to a small group of students, instruct students on proper practical application of knowledge, equipment, and skills, perform fair, accurate, and consistent evaluation of students on practical skills and act as a student advocate in the learning process.
Qualifications
- Current certification/licensure as EMT, ECT, WEMT or phlebotomist (dependent on instructional assignment).
- 3 Years of experience working with phlebotomy.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
- Previous teaching experience at desired instructional level.
- Current provider certification from the American Heart Association in BLS.
- Ability to foster a stimulating work environment.
- Ability to follow, support, and enforce all educational and operational policies and procedures.
- Skill in working independently and following through with minimal direction.
- Skill in working as part of a team collaborating with colleagues.
- Excellent communication and instructional presentation skills.
- Ability to provide service oriented customer assistance in a professional and courteous manner.
- Available to work evenings and/or weekends.
- Detailed knowledge of course policies, objectives, and requirements.
- Detailed knowledge of all pertinent level skills and the ability to provide instruction of same.
- Ability to translate complex concepts into understandable parts.
- Interpersonal skills to excel in relations supervisor, staff, students, and the public.
- Skill in working as part of a team; collaborating with colleagues.
- Collaborates with co-workers and works cooperatively.
- Effectively teaches prehospital care procedures.
- Detailed knowledge and skill in prehospital care procedures and techniques.
