Position Description
The Healy Lab is recruiting a postdoc to join the new team in the Department of Environmental Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. The lab will research approaches to limit exposures to pathogens of the built environment through a microbial community lens. Potential projects will include the following:- Wastewater surveillance for bacterial/fungal targets using sequencing-based approaches
- Surveillance of pathogens in open sewage canals in low-resource settings
- Microbiome engineering of plumbing biofilms to reduce antibiotic-resistant healthcare-associated infections
- Changes in built environment microbiology surrounding extreme weather events
Start date is expected to be January 2025 or later. Review of applications will be ongoing until the position is filled.
Basic Qualifications
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow must hold a PhD in environmental health, environmental engineering, computational/molecular biology, or a related field by the time of appointment. The candidate must have relevant experience with laboratory or bioinformatic methods.Additional Qualifications
