Job Description Summary:
Assist in the administration of a department's graduate studies program. Work closely with the Graduate Studies Program Director to oversee activities and functions of graduate students enrolled in the program. Assist with registration and other activity related to student and faculty coursework. Responsible for program communication among faculty, staff and trainees and may coordinate seminar series, grand rounds or special lectures.

Job Description:

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Graduate Studies Program:

Work with the Graduate Studies Program Director(s) to oversee activities and functions including online registration and administration of student and faculty coursework, grading and processing tuition payments, School of Medicine administration liaison and materials progressing to degree management.

Pathology Grand Rounds & IRPR Seminar Series & Special Lectures:

Coordinate a seminar series and special lectures (approximately 27 per year), including maintaining the seminar calendar, communicating with the KUMC hosts and invited speakers, making travel and lodging arrangements for speakers, scheduling KUMC faculty meetings with speakers, and processing all payments and documentation related to the seminars and lectures.

Prepare and submit annual applications for seminar and special lecture financial support via Bohan Programs and track all related expenses.

PRGO Communications:

Serve as the Pathology Research and Grants Office (PRGO) point of contact for all Department of Pathology basic science faculty, staff and trainees related to communications (primarily via Outlook). This includes sharing news and announcements, requesting information, maintaining lab rosters and email groups.

Work Environment

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not usually subject the employee to any unpleasant elements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in education or healthcare or business administration, or equivalent in experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in education or healthcare or business administration preferred.
Skills:
  • Workday Experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
  • Two years administrative experience, including one year within a healthcare or academic organization.

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
