Position Highlights
The Accelerating Secure IT Services (ASITS) program is a comprehensive effort dedicated to reshaping and strengthening IT operations, security, and services across the University of Arizona. Working with our campus IT partners, we have engaged in a thorough assessment of current capabilities, needs, and gaps. The ASITS team will use this suite of robust data to increase alignment of the university's IT infrastructure and processes to establish clear pathways for collaboration. We are seeking to provide increased access to technology tools, support, procedures, and provide a continuity of operations.The Data Analyst designs, develops, and maintains data extracts, queries, reports, surveys, statistical models, and visualizations, using advanced analytical tools to inform decision making related to both the IT Restructure and Accelerating Secure IT Services (ASITS) programs. The position ensures accuracy and efficiency of output and makes recommendations consistent with findings.
This is an Extended Temporary Position with an expected end date of June 30, 2025.
This position may allow for remote or hybrid work from within the state of Arizona. Incumbent will need to reside in Arizona

Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data extracts, queries, reports, surveys, statistical models, and visulalizations, using advanced analytical tools to inform decision making related to IT Restructure and ASITS programs.
- Apply data visualization through different formats such as graphs, tables, and PowerPoint slides.
- Produce routine and ad hoc reports for UITS Executive Leadership and program teams.
- Gather requirements to determine the specifics of what is being asked and seek consultation when unique issues are presented.
- Works collaboratively across multiple units and with a variety of stakeholders who rely on data analyses for decision support.
- Evaluate or interpret data, including identification of patterns or trends, and present findings to assist with or influence strategic decisions.
- Serve as a functional expert and resource regarding IT Restructure and ASITS data, offering recommendations for appropriate data research strategies that will produce information for use by Program leaders and UITS Executives.
- Ensure analysis are consistent with federal, state, and university regulations while applying high ethical standards in ensuring that the data is presented with integrity.
- Develop and maintain database for ASITS and IT Restructure data. Serve as the data owner for this information.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree AND 5 years of relevant work experience; OR,
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with data analysis.
- Experience using SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using dashboard and data visualization principles, theories and concepts.
- Experience developing models and simulations and synthesizing information into quantitative and qualitative assessments to support senior leader decision-making.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.
