College Access Data Technician II
General Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Research and Evaluation, this position is responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and retrieval of West Virginia GEAR UP data, providing thorough review of all material entered and generating reports as required. Responsibilities include assisting with data collection, entry, and validation, tracking services, drafting and distributing reports, along with supporting other various aspects of the WV GEAR UP grant as directed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collects and enters accurate and efficient GEAR UP data to maintain the integrity and completeness of information;
- Regularly conducts quality checks to verify data accuracy, promptly identifying and correcting errors;
- Provides monthly data and reporting related to GEAR UP objectives and analyzes data in order to develop improved strategies and to monitor measurable outcomes; Generates required reports, providing timely insights into key performance metrics and data trends;
- Monitors and reviews databases for accurate data collection; Reviews discrepancies in data received, requests clarification or advises supervisor of issues;
- Works closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and contribute to a seamless workflow;
- Assists with the creation and distribution of statistical and research-related data associated to GEAR UP objectives in order to keep school/county staff informed of progress toward their goals;
Support various aspects of the West Virginia GEAR UP grant:
- Develops presentation materials from collected data suitable for various GEAR UP audiences;
- Assists with developing and implementing activities for GEAR UP students to promote increased school interest and involvement;
- Works with Site Coordinators and related staff to promote the awareness of GEAR UP programming;
- Works closely with administrative staff to create outreach materials, manage calendar of activities, respond to Txt 4 Success messaging, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year experience in data collection or program research OR
Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years’ combined experience in data collection, program research, or college access programming required.
College admissions, outreach and financial aid experience preferred.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite design software also preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High level of proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Internet capabilities required.
