Position Summary:
The Web Designer & Content Manager will provide web design support for Western Oregon University departments, student groups, and other areas as needed. This position will provide XHTML/CSS expertise, end-user training and support, graphic artistry, and be the main campus resource for website usability. The position is also responsible for advising technical staff regarding accessibility features and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for the main university website (wou.edu).
Western Oregon University provides visa support exclusively for Tenure Track employees in specialized positions with ongoing, long-term university appointments. This position does not qualify as specialized and is, therefore, not eligible for visa support.

Required Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree
● Valid Oregon Driver’s License
● 2 years of detailed experience with PHP, XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript
● 2 years of strong written and verbal communication skills
● 4 years of professional web design, construction, and visual communication experience
● 1 year of experience implementing WordPress at an enterprise level
● 1 year of experience managing and implementing WordPress plugins
● Strong organizational skills
● Excellent customer service skills
● Experience training employees
