Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and Clinical Director
Yeshiva University, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Physician Assistant Studies and Clinical Director. Yeshiva University seeks a collaborative and progressive faculty member to join the PA team. The ideal candidate will align with the mission and vision of the University and bring with them a distinct passion for PA education. The PA program is located on the Yeshiva University Resnick Campus in the Bronx, N.Y.
The Clinical Director will collaborate with the Program Director to support program assessment efforts and will also engage in various departmental responsibilities, including student advising and mentoring, teaching, scholarship, and participation in committees at the department, school, and university levels.
Primary Responsibilities:
Close collaboration with Program Director relevant to all aspects of student clinical experiences.
Scheduling, maintaining, overseeing, and ensuring adequacy and appropriateness of all clinical courses/supervised clinical practice experiences to guarantee compliance with ARC-PA Standards.
Recruitment and maintenance of clinical sites and preceptors.
Collaborating with the Program Director to implement and maintain an ongoing clinical site monitoring plan to ensure the program has adequate SCPE sites, including in-person and/or virtual site visits.
Overseeing ongoing assessment and improvement of the program's clinical phase to include evaluation of student performance, preceptor performance, clinical site quality, and curriculum.
Coordinating monthly end of rotation activities and examinations.
Teaching, evaluating, and advising students throughout the clinical phases of the program.
Directing or assisting in labs, simulation activities, practical exams, and callback days throughout the program.
Mentoring student clinical/research projects.
Serving on the program admissions committee.
Participating in program self-assessment and document preparation for ARC-PA accreditation.
Participating on committees at the department and university levels as appointed.
Engaging in community and campus relations, and scholarly activities appropriate to the role of Clinical Director and PA faculty.
Qualifications:
Master's degree is required.
Current PA national certification (candidate is required to maintain certification throughout employment).
Eligibility for licensure in NYS
Minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
Experience as clinical director or clinical coordinator preferred.
Experience as clinical preceptor preferred.
Experience with EXXAT preferred.
