The School of Hospitality at Metropolitan State University of Denver is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and meticulously organized Recruitment and Retention Specialist to be the ambassador for the School of Hospitality within our community. Reporting directly to the Director of Student Services and Operations, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist will play a pivotal role in boosting enrollment at the School of Hospitality through strategic recruitment and retention initiatives aimed at fostering student success. By effectively implementing the college's recruitment and retention strategies, the incumbent will spearhead the following key responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:
Under Colorado law, MSU Denver is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $41,200 - $51,500. The full salary range is $41,200 - $61,800.
This position is paid monthly and is eligible for MSU Denver benefits.
Work Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Given the nature of the role, flexibility is required for on-campus, in-person, and on-site visits to high schools, community colleges, and other recruitment event venues. Remote work may be available for up to one or two days per week. Some evening or weekend work may be necessary. This position necessitates reliable transportation within the Denver Metro area, including locations with limited transit service.

Reporting directly to the Director of Student Services and Operations, the Recruitment and Retention Specialist will play a pivotal role in boosting enrollment at the School of Hospitality through strategic recruitment and retention initiatives aimed at fostering student success. By effectively implementing the college's recruitment and retention strategies, the incumbent will spearhead the following key responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
Student Recruitment Efforts (60%)
- Foster collaborative relationships with faculty, advisors, and personnel at high schools and community colleges, establishing clear pathways from these institutions to the School of Hospitality.
- Act as the representative of the School of Hospitality in both on-campus and off-campus events, including campus fairs, community college and high school events, and interscholastic competitions (e.g., ProStart, FCCLA, DECA).
- Create and execute engaging events on and off campus for prospective students, parents, high school and community college faculty, advisors, and other relevant groups to enhance community involvement.
- Lead initiatives that leverage university resources to create, update, and enhance promotional materials, encompassing print materials, letters, web content, and social media platforms.
- Innovate strategies to expand the scope of existing recruitment, outreach, and promotional initiatives.
- Manage all aspects of registration events, welcome week activities, early alert campaigns, and other student-centric efforts aimed at boosting retention rates.
- Organize college events to nurture student engagement, enrichment, career readiness, and success.
- Actively participate in university-wide initiatives focused on enhancing student success and engagement.
- Collaborate with student organizations and alumni to orchestrate events that contribute to retention and successful program completion.
- Effectively communicate university and School of Hospitality degree requirements, transfer and admissions processes to students.
- Utilize advising systems and liaise with faculty, particularly for introductory courses, to identify students at risk of non-return or who require support in achieving program-specific milestones.
- Participate in university-wide efforts that promote student success and registration events.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Marketing, Sales, Education, Communication, Hospitality or a related field.
- Experience working with college students or youth in event planning and outreach capacities.
- Experience planning and executing open house and recruitment events such as workshops, tours, informational seminars, and campus visits.
- Familiarity with the Colorado and Denver Metro secondary and post-secondary educational landscape, including Career and Technical Education pathways.
- Experience with computer-based student information systems (e.g., Banner, Slate, Student Success Collaborative (Navigate), etc.).
- Proficiency in professional digital media usage, including social media platforms.
- Bilingual fluency in English, Spanish preferred.
- Experience with and sensitivity to the educational requirements of a diverse urban population.
