Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and optimize integrations between various technological solutions utilized within the online university's ecosystem.
  • Engage with educational technology stakeholders to ensure alignment of solutions with academic goals and standards.
  • Implement and enforce security and compliance protocols to safeguard sensitive data and uphold regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure minimal disruption to operations in the event of unforeseen circumstances.
  • Provide user support and training initiatives to enhance technological proficiency across the university's community.
  • Manage vendors effectively, ensuring adherence to service level agreements and fostering productive partnerships.
  • Conduct integration reviews and provide advisement on potential enhancements or adjustments to existing systems.
  • Take responsibility for managing more impactful, higher-risk, or complex solutions administration tasks.
  • Assume higher levels of autonomy and leadership, guiding junior team members and driving initiatives forward.
  • Monitor system performance and optimize configurations to ensure optimal functionality and user experience.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive policies and documentation pertaining to solution administration processes and protocols.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in solution management methodologies and best practices.
  • In-depth understanding of educational technology landscape and trends.
  • Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks relevant to higher education institutions.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning principles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective user support and vendor management.
  • Ability to assess, review, and advise on integration strategies and performance optimization.
  • Capability to develop and document policies and procedures comprehensively.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and refining educational programs, courses, and curricula within the higher education sector.
  • Understanding of accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices related to program development and institutional compliance.
  • Proven ability to design and assess curriculum effectiveness, learning outcomes, and student engagement strategies, particularly within a Competency-based Education model.
  • Experience with online learning platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and educational technologies used in online and hybrid learning environments.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and principles, including instructional design methodologies tailored to adult learners in diverse academic settings.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with academic departments, faculty members, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage project timelines, and ensure alignment with departmental goals and objectives.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to inform program development decisions, assess program efficacy, and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to articulate program objectives, outcomes, and value propositions to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to explore innovative approaches to program development, incorporate emerging technologies, and adapt to evolving trends and student needs in higher education.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, or related field .
  • 5 or more years of related experience in assessments, system administration, higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Educational Technology, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Certifications in relevant areas.
  • Previous experience within a similar environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Pay Range: $97,100.00 - $145,600.00 WGU will accept applications for this position until 12:00 AM ET, 10/15/2024
