Job Description
Basic Function: BASIC FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the area Director, provides complex administrative support to the RCCD Foundation with a high level of independent judgment and decision making; conducts in-depth wealth and prospect research, and creates multi-format reports regarding current and prospective donors and funding opportunities; maintains comprehensive general, donor and alumni databases used by the RCCD Foundation, Chancellor's Office, colleges and campus departments; plans, organizes, coordinates; and participates in operations specific to the office.
PROVIDES WORK OR LEAD DIRECTION TO: Short-Term employee(s) and/or Work Study student(s).
Education: EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in business administration, CIS, marketing or a related field is required.
Experience: EXPERIENCE: Three years of full-time clerical or administrative experience in a fundraising or a related field, including experience working with donor software is required.
KNOWLEDGE OF: Modern office practices and procedures; donor software programs such as Datatel Colleague Advancement, Blackbaud, Raiser's Edge, Ellucian Banner or other contemporary systems; contemporary systems such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Colleague Advancement; requisition and purchase order processes; basic record keeping systems; effective customer service principles in working with internal and external leaders and managers.
ABILITY TO: Operate computer; interpret and explain rules and policies; prepare, format, and edit reports and other materials; compose letters independently; communicate effectively and maintain effective relationships with District and college officials, faculty members, employees, students, and the public; compile and maintain accurate and complete records and reports; maintain confidential files and records; keyboard at a speed not less than 50 words per minute; and create and maintain databases in Excel, Access or Colleague Advancement for research, planning and communications.

Duties and Responsibilities: REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Conducts in-depth research and analysis of information relating to RCCD Foundation donors, prospects, and alumni using proprietary software systems.
2. Researches, coordinates and assists in submission of grant applications for District and college projects.
3. Designs and produces statistical and narrative reports using advanced query protocols, as well as organizing forms, applications, presentations and documents.
4. Inputs and retrieves a variety of computerized data.
5. Maintains open communication with the Director and Assistant Director, relating all information that is pertinent to the District-level administrative office.
6. Maintains a variety of complex files including donor records and databases using Colleague Advancement software; mines the data for fundraising, recognition and marketing purposes.
7. Prepares check requisitions, purchase orders, and records; tracks expenditures relating to the operation of the Foundation.
8. Assists with the development, production, and distribution of RCCD Foundation publications and other collateral material.
9. Records, processes and acknowledges all donations and pledges received by the Foundation; prepares donations for deposit.
10. Assists in the development, production, and staffing of Foundation events, as required.
11. Provides support for the RCCD Foundation Board, committees, RCC Associates, RCC Tigerbackers, task forces and other special groups; schedules and attends meetings; prepares agendas, minutes and related documents, and Board reports; distributes materials as appropriate.
12. Participates in the District's community outreach efforts, programs, special events, workshops, open houses, etc., as assigned.
13. Schedules, arranges, and confirms appointments, meetings and conferences and arranges travel accommodations.
14. Composes correspondence with a minimum of instruction; inputs letters, memoranda, and minutes from handwritten drafts, including material of a confidential nature.
15. Orders and maintains supplies; organizes and establishes filing and record-keeping systems.
16. May assign and review work of clerical personnel; may supervise student personnel.
17. Participates in District-provided in-service training programs.
18. Maintains a friendly, supportive atmosphere for students, staff, faculty, and the public.
19. Performs other duties, related to the position, as assigned.

SALARY: Salary grades consist of nine steps. A new employee is normally placed on Step 1 of the grade. Changes in step placement take place on the first day of the first month following the anniversary date of attaining permanent classified employee status until the maximum of the grade is reached.
HOLIDAYS: There are 13 holidays observed each year. A pro-rata reduction will be made for employees working less than full-time and less than twelve months.
VACATION: Employees are granted 12 days of vacation per year through the first five years of service to the District; 15 days after completion of five continuous years of service to the District; 20 days after completion of ten continuous years of service to the District; and 22 days after completion of 15 continuous years of service to the District. This computation is based on full-time, twelve-month employment. A pro-rata reduction will be made for employees working less than full-time and less than twelve months.
SICK LEAVE: One day of sick leave for each month of service is granted. This is based on full-time, twelve-month
employment. A pro-rata reduction will be made for employees working less than full-time and less than twelve
months. There is no limit to the number of days of sick leave which may be accrued.
FRINGE BENEFITS: The college provides a health and welfare benefit package for employees and legal qualifying dependents. Those employees working less than full-time and less than twelve months will receive a pro-rata share of the benefit package. The dollar value of the package is a subject of negotiation between the District and the Bargaining Unit. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are not eligible for this benefit package.
The work location and assignment within a job classification is determined by the District and may be subject to change.
