Job Description

The Idaho State University Office of Marketing and Communication is seeking an experienced and talented graphic designer to support the visual and brand representation of the University. This position will work with the Design and Creative Strategy Manager and the Brand Team to accomplish the strategic mission of the office.

This position is NOT eligible for remote work (position required to be completed in-person).

Key Responsibilities
  • Create designs for a broad range of applications, such as print materials, digital materials, space branding and interior design, signage, or promotional items, and brand management
  • Support the University's brand strategy and adhere to strict brand guidelines
  • Serve as a resource and guide to assist employees with applying the brand
  • Understand professional printing jargon, processes, treatments, finishes, and experience constructing digital print die layouts to effectively engage with vendors
  • Assist with the ordering process for print and promotion including gathering estimates
  • Be a strong part of the in-house design team and develop exceptionally creative and innovative designs within a defined set of brand standards
  • Work in a collaborative team environment with regular, constructive feedback
  • Ability to work under tight time constraints without tardiness or loss of quality
  • Clearly and openly communicate to coordinate project details
  • Utilize excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a large workload effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, art, marketing, communications or related field
  • Two or more years of experience working professionally in graphic design
  • Proficient using the Adobe Creative Cloud Software (Particularly: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced photo editing
  • Skill in digital illustration using software like Procreate or similar
  • Basic knowledge of brand management
  • Experience using Canva and Canva Teams
  • Skills in motion graphics using Adobe After Effects or similar software

This position will remain open until it is filled; however, priority consideration will be given to applications received on or before October 28, 2024. Salary will be between $50,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. All offers of employment are conditional pending the successful completion of a background investigation, provided by HireRight.
