Your Role With Us: 

The advancement and delivery of top-notch, effective healthcare education is at the heart of what we do! Utilizing a comprehensive approach, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of physical therapists by imparting clinical care techniques aimed at mitigating disability, promoting functional independence, and optimizing human performance.

This position is a 12-month appointment that will begin in the fall semester of 2024 or early 2025.

Core Functions: 

  • Instruction, evaluation, and progression of entry-level DPT students with a focus on evidence-based practice, preferably in foundational science and in-patient physical therapy. 
  • Advisement and mentoring of DPT students
  • Active involvement in scholarly activities and/or clinical practice commensurate with rank and overall development.
  • Involvement in departmental and university committees as well as professional and community service.
  • Preparation of class materials and teaching of classes as scheduled.
  • Advancement of the university and physical therapy program’s mission, goals, and outcomes.
  • Adherence to the policies of the physical therapy program and University.

Background/Expertise:

  • Post-professional Doctoral degree (PhD, DSc, ScD, or EdD) preferred. 
  • Applicants with a clinical doctorate, advanced clinical certification, and/or specialty certification will also be considered. 
  • A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience is preferred for licensed physical therapists.
  • If applicable, be eligible to obtain licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Utah. 
  • Knowledge of practice issues affecting contemporary physical therapy education and the profession of physical therapy.
  • Knowledge of educational, management, and adult learning theory and principles is preferred.
