Job Description
The May Laboratory is seeking a highly qualified postdoctoral researcher for NIH-funded projects (up to 5 years) focused on understanding how RNA viruses impact cellular dynamics during infection. We utilize simple plant viruses and the model host Arabidopsis thaliana to explore virus-host interactions. Our research integrates traditional virological assays with high-throughput sequencing approaches for better understand gene expression and translation patterns during infection.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong skills in experimental design, critical thinking, and both written and oral communication. Preferred qualifications include experience with either Illumina or Nanopore sequencing platforms and data analysis. Opportunities for developing independent research projects will be provided to support career advancement.
This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible unranked academic position.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in Virology, Microbiology, or related field
Anticipated Hiring Range
Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
