Job Description
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Idaho State University (ISU) seeks an outstanding clinical audiologist to expand audiology services on our Pocatello Campus, provide clinical instruction, and coordinate the clinical operations of the Pocatello Audiology Clinic. Responsibilities include working in the following areas: providing a full spectrum of audiological services to adults and pediatrics, managing day-to-day activities in the clinic, and seeking opportunities to increase access to hearing health care within the community. This individual would also participate in clinical instruction for audiology doctoral students in the Pocatello Clinic.
Key Responsibilities

Salary will be between $80,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience. This individual would also participate in clinical instruction for audiology doctoral students in the Pocatello Clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a broad range of clinical audiology services in Pocatello, including pediatric and adult hearing evaluations, hearing aid fittings and follow-ups, implantable device evaluations and fittings, ABR testing, VNG testing, Veterans Affairs (VA) compensation & pension evaluations, tinnitus evaluations, and telehealth services.
- Develop, review, and revise clinical procedures and policies for the Audiology Clinic.
- Develop and implement electronic medical records (EMR) documentation templates, balance student learning and efficiency in documentation, and act as a liaison for billing and coding, maintaining regular communication with the central billing officer.
- Maintain audiology equipment and clinical supplies and schedule annual equipment calibration. Manage an inventory list of all audiology equipment, including diagnostic and screening devices, and coordinate with office staff to monitor ISU inventory and equipment tags annually.
- Assign and coordinate office staff responsibilities and assist in training and orienting new staff members.
- Organize and manage the ISU Hearing Aid Repair and Walk-In Clinic. Supervise students scheduled for clinical repair rotations.
- Train and manage student workers, clinical assistants, and hearing aid repair technicians.
- Schedule activities to promote learning, continuing education, and community awareness, and facilitate guest presenters and manufacturer hearing aid training for students and faculty under Trainings & CEUs.
- Earned master's degree (e.g., MS, MA) and/or doctoral degree in Audiology (e.g., AuD, Ph.D.)
- Be eligible for Idaho licensure as an audiologist
- Have a minimum of 9 months (post-graduation) of clinical audiology experience
- Be eligible for the American Speech/Language Hearing Association (ASHA) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)
- Evidence of strong collaboration skills
- Excellent interpersonal and professional skills and potential for excellence in teaching
- Interest in and/or experience in business administration and/or private practice clinical activities
- Hearing-aid experience with multiple product lines and manufacturers
- Experience supervising and instructing graduate students in a clinical environment
- Experience in implantable devices, especially with cochlear implants
- Interest in and experience with auditory brainstem response evaluation
- Interest in and/or experience with vestibular assessment and management
- Have a clear potential for clinical teaching
