Job Description Summary:
Department of Radiology has an immediate opening for a full-time, Research Assistant to join a strong magnetic resonance (MR) research team for assisting ongoing imaging research projects. The successful candidate will assist in various research activities and perform data analysis for multidisciplinary research studies.
Job Description:
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate research studies - keep track of status of research projects and keep records. Communicate with all research teams and study participants, including scheduling and reporting.
- Data analysis and programming - analyze MR data and summarize results. Organize and maintain data and database.
- Dissemination of research results - report the data analysis outcomes. Contribute in writing, manuscripts, grants and progress reports.
- Perform other study-related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, medical physics, physics, chemistry, biostatistics or related fields.
Work Experience: Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, Java or IDL.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Master's degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, medical physics, physics, chemistry, biostatistics or related fields.
Work Experience:
- Experience in research coordination. Programming experience in MATLAB, C/C++ or IDL.
- Experience with MR data analysis.
- Understanding MR principles and MRI/MRS methods
- Analytical skills.
- Meticulous and attention to detail.
- Communication skills.
- Organizational and interpersonal skills.

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
