Job Description

The Undergraduate Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator will coordinate local recruitment and professional networking events for a) the College of Engineering and b) the Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) in accordance with predetermined goals and objectives primarily related to underrepresented and underserved undergraduate students. They will join a team of faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students committed to recruiting, supporting, and retaining students in the College of Engineering. They will work on various tasks and develop skills in many areas, with significant roles in event planning, marketing, coordination, and management. The position is full-time and reports to the Associate Dean of Inclusive Excellence.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree or bachelor's degree with commensurate experience
Professional experience with outreach, recruitment, admissions, and/or project management
Experience with software such as Qualtrics, Publisher, Photoshop, and MS Office
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Demonstrated history of working independently on multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated history of communicating effectively with various audiences
Demonstrated history of working successfully with a wide range of professionals within teamwork settings
Demonstrated history of fostering culturally responsive and/or hospitable environments

Preferred Qualifications

Experience creating content and graphics for marketing efforts
Familiarity with VT software such as Banner, HokieSPA, Ensemble, and SLATE
Experience with video editing and photography
Experience administering social media
Experience with databases such as Banner and Hokiemart
Experience supervising undergraduate students
