Position Highlights

Integral member of the International Student Services (ISS) team, serving as front-line liaison who will effectively communicate information to students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, external agencies, international guests, and the general public in a diverse cultural environment. Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic office serving the needs of over 3000 international students from over 100 countries. This individual is responsible for in-person services Monday-Friday, 8-5 pm.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

In conjunction with other front desk staff, manages the following front office operations:

  • Serving as the initial contact person for all in-person, phone and
    email inquiries received from students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni,
    external agencies, international guests, and the general public
  • Directing students to appropriate e-forms and providing updates
    regarding status of submitted requests through MyGlobal/Sunapsis
  • Providing referrals for ISS advising, International Admissions and
    International Faculty and Scholars offices and other UArizona staff
  • Managing ISS general email account and general office phone line
  • Tracking international student visits received at the front desk through MyGlobal/Sunapsis
  • Supervising front desk student worker(s) including hiring, scheduling, time reporting, training, and task assignment
  • Reviewing and processing select student requests (examples: Change of Address, e-Letters of Invitation, Ride Requests)
  • Assisting with international student event support as needed
  • Managing office supply orders and building facility requests

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree AND one year experience working directly with international students OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Direct customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in office setting.

Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses. These reports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
