Library Technician
Position Details: The Library Technician provides high-quality customer service to OU-Tulsa Schusterman Library patrons using the library's resources and services. This position staffs the library's front service and circulation desk and is responsible for overseeing the library's closing procedures on weekday evenings. This position is non-exempt per FLSA and will be scheduled 20-24 hours a week, Monday-Thursday. The position will report to the Associate Director of the Schusterman Library.
Essential Duties:
Provides customer service, general reference assistance, and circulation support to OU-Tulsa patrons in navigating and using the library's services during scheduled shifts at the library's front service desk.
Executes circulation of library materials including checking out materials and processing holds using the library's online library management system.
Answers questions on finding and locating library materials and resources. Answers questions via in person interaction, online chat, and telephone.
Assists patrons using library computers, scanners, and printers.
Oversees the library's closing procedures on weekday evenings and communicates evening activities to the Associate Director.
Schedules group study rooms and other library reservable spaces using the library's online booking system.
Performs shelving and shelf reading of library print collections using the Library of Congress classification system.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfil the function of the position.

Qualifications:
Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND:
12 months clerical experience.
Working Conditions:
Physical: Standing, walking, stooping, bending, and reaching. Engage in repetitive motion. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Environmental: Standard library environment.
Preferences:
12 months of work experience in a library
Associate or bachelor's degree
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong customer service skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn new technologies and systems
