The Financial Aid Office is focused on the elimination of unnecessary barriers to college access and completion. Our goal is to simplify the financial aid process as much as possible, and to make sure students are always engaged and aware of the next step. Our office allows us to reach students earlier and more efficiently, providing students with necessary information about their individual situations to help them persist and succeed.

Essential Duties:

  • Support Financial Aid systems (Banner, Appworx, Slate, Laserfiche, DocuSign) by coordinating projects, planning, monitoring software, implementing, troubleshooting, quality assurance, communicating, and staying abreast of changing technologies.

  • Perform project coordination for evaluating, testing, documenting, monitoring, debugging, auditing, and maintaining data storage systems.

  • Plan, documents and communicates all changes to server software, minimizing customer disruption.

  • Develop and implement administrative procedures and assist Operations in analyzing and implementing new operational procedures when required.

  • Review, analyze, implement, and support third party products and interfaces. Currently consisting of Slate, Laserfiche, Salesforce, DocuSign, Federal Student Aid (COD, FPS, NSLDS), National Student Clearinghouse, and Human Capital.

  • Diagnose server and operational problems and develop effective solutions. Investigate reported issues and works with IT or customer support to resolve genuine issues.

  • Support day-to-day operation of Banner Financial Aid (aid processing, communication, reconciliations, and statistical information for reporting agencies).

  • Confer with vendors, IT personnel and Financial Aid Services staff to determine suitability of specific systems, integrations, and/or software solutions. Consult with end users (and Tier One support if needed) on the access and use of systems.

  • Continue to stay abreast of changing technologies and new product items to support and enhance job performance.

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with university leadership such as vice-presidents, deans, directors, financial officers, development officers, and faculty/staff/student groups.

  • Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position. May supervise a small staff.

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or related field, AND:

  • 60 months experience in analysis and design of Information Systems, Systems Analysis Project Management, or closely related experience.

Equivalent/ Substitution: Will accept 48 months of equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

  • SQL and scripting capabilities to manage/troubleshoot issues and develop solutions for Financial Aid Services
