Southeastern Louisiana University invites applications for the position of Head of Electronic Resources and Serials / Assistant Professor. This position leads the Electronic Resources and Serials Department and supervises one librarian, three staff members, and several student workers and graduate assistants. It is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring the annual budget for all recurring expenditures, including print and electronic subscription renewals and access fees, standing orders, local and consortium databases, and deposit accounts. This position works closely with vendors, negotiates pricing of annual renewals and manages electronic licensing agreements. This position develops departmental goals and objectives that will facilitate the broader goals and objectives of the Library. As a member of the Southeastern Louisiana University faculty, the incumbent will be expected to participate in professional and service activities required for acquiring tenure and promotion.

Required Qualifications

Graduate degree from a program accredited by the American Library Association or from a program in a country with a formal accreditation process as identified by ALA’s Human Resource Development and Recruitment Office.A minimum of three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience within an academic library setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of professional service and/or research in the field of library science.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Experience collaborating with diverse groups and library departments to promote student success.Experience managing employees, preferably in a library setting.
