Location
This position will work on both campuses but will be based at Fifth Third Stadium, located at 3200 George Busbee Parkway NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Oversees staffing, student engagement, and marketing for Night Owl and the Department of Event and Venue Management. Ensures smooth operations and improvement of ongoing departmental programs, activities, and initiatives. Works to attract top talent to the Event and Venue Management department and the Night Owl program while effectively promoting associated brands. Drives the success of the Night Owl program by creating experiential learning opportunities for students in sports, entertainment, and venue management fields.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*:
1. Develops and implements comprehensive strategies for attracting, recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining student employees.
2. Oversees the planning and execution of departmental training and onboarding programs to enhance staff readiness and situational awareness.
3. Oversees the budget for student employees and creates and distributes monthly reports to ensure accurate billing.
4. Ensures the Night Owl program aligns with the university's academic mission and provides meaningful experiential learning opportunities.
5. Manages and maintains the electronic student staffing database and scheduling system, ensuring it is up-to-date, accurate, and user-friendly.
6. Serves as the primary point of contact for Night Owl student staff throughout their employment lifecycle, ensuring policy compliance.
7. Designs, sources, and manages staffing and recruitment-related inventory, including uniforms and promotional items.
8. Attends industry workshops and conferences, seeking opportunities for students to represent Night Owl on regional and national levels while advancing the mission of the university and department and fostering professional growth.
9. Supervises the Night Owl Staffing and Marketing teams and the Night Owl Crew Call staff.
10. Coordinates departmental educational, engagement, and networking opportunities, such as venue tours and guest speaker events.
11. Collaborates with the Night Owl Alumni Council to facilitate engagement opportunities for current and former program participants.
12. Cultivates relationships with students, faculty, and academic administrators to create external learning environments that complement the academic curriculum.
13. Develops and executes comprehensive marketing plans for Fifth Third Stadium, The Department of Event and Venue Management, and Night Owl, utilizing market research, analyzing performance metrics, and ensuring alignment with university partners.
14. Oversees the creation of marketing materials, including presentations, signage, graphics, videos, and other digital content.
15. Manages digital marketing efforts, including website content, email campaigns, and social media platforms.
16. Oversees and manages crew meals for events, including coordinating with clients and vendors, handling logistics, and ensuring adherence to university policies.
17. Acts as Manager on Duty for assigned events.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience.
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license
Required Experience
Five (5) years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Trained Crowd Manager Certification
TEAM (Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management) Certification and Trainer Certification
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
Preferred Experience
Experience in guest services, crowd management, and event management working in large-scale environments
Experience working in higher education
Proposed Salary
The budgeted salary range is $51,800 to $58,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.
