Overview

We are seeking exceptionally promising early-career scholars, recently graduated with a PhD, in the area of business and/or technology to fill the position of Junior University Research Chair. This designation is designed to nurture and expedite the progression of outstanding researchers, providing them with an opportunity to flourish in their academic careers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in research activities, teaching, and service, contributing to the academic community at UCW and their own personal professional development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research in the candidate's area of expertise, with a focus on producing impactful and innovative contributions.
  • Participate in scholarly activities such as publishing peer-reviewed articles, presenting at conferences, and seeking external funding to support research endeavors.
  • Provide effective teaching to undergraduate and/or graduate students, using innovative pedagogical methods and promoting a supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in service and administrative duties within the university and broader academic community, which may include serving on committees, mentoring students, and contributing to outreach initiatives including traveling internationally.
  • Support and supervise students and faculty in their research endeavors and participate in recruitment initiatives.
  • Participate in grants bids to fund research, and other forms of income generation.
  • Work collaboratively with other colleagues to foster productive interdisciplinary partnerships to enhance research and teaching efforts.

Personal Specifications

  • You have graduated with a PhD in a related field in the past ten years, demonstrating exceptional promise and potential for scholarly achievement.
  • Strong research background with evidence of significant productivity, such as publications in prestigious academic journals and conference presentations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students, with the ability to engage and inspire others.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concepts to diverse audiences, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to contribute to the academic community through service and administrative activities and collaboration with colleagues.
