Position Description

The Department of Philosophy seeks to appoint a tenure-track professor in Social Philosophy. We are especially eager to consider candidates with research programs in philosophy of race, philosophy of gender, philosophy of disability, philosophy of indigeneity, or philosophy of social class. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and will be expected to participate fully in the activities of the Department of Philosophy and to collaborate with relevant colleagues across the university. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2025.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate in Philosophy (specializing in Social Philosophy) required by the time the appointment begins.

Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching and advising is desired.

6. Writing sample (maximum 30 pages)

7. Names and contact information of 3-5 referees, who will be asked by a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation once the candidate's application has been submitted. Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received.

8. Optional: Candidates may submit one additional sample of scholarship (maximum 30 pages)
