Job Description

The Donor Relations Coordinator will create, implement, and direct a donor recognition and stewardship strategy that will include functions, events, programs, and systems for annual, major, and principal gift donors. The successful candidate will provide and promote a high-level and consistent communication with donors, ISU Foundation, development directors, and ISU faculty and staff regarding stewardship and recognition events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and supervise a comprehensive donor relations program
  • Gather information for, prepare, and distribute annual stewardship reports for endowment donors and other major and principal gift donors as needed
  • Collaborate with fundraising colleagues on developing and deploying stewardship plans for annual, major, and principal gifts and campaigns, including the management of the university's donor recognition society, The Gem Legacy
  • Work with the ISU scholarship office to identify scholarship recipients and coordinate acknowledgements from students, reporting to donors, and other information as requested
  • Collaborate on and execute an effective and efficient donor relations event and activities strategy
  • Collaborate with finance, development, and advancement services colleagues to execute donor reporting systems for endowments, programmatic funds, and high level gifts annually
  • Assist in budget management associated with recognition and stewardship events
  • Assist in the creation and execution of gift and fund agreements
  • Other tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree a minimum six years combined education, training, and experience may be considered)
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in conceptualization, problem-solving, attention to detail, and task completion
  • Willing to work odd hours and weekends
  • Proficient with all functions of Microsoft Office Suite and donor management software packages
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in event planning, gift acknowledgement, the major gift development process, and volunteer management within a higher education fundraising organization
  • Proficient with Blackbaud- Raiser's Edge
  • Five (5) years of similar or transferable professional experience, including:
    • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
    • Professional interpersonal and team-building skills including collaboration with others to establish and maintain good working relationships
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of fundraising
Additional Information

Salary will be between $47,325 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
