Salary Range: The beginning salary range for this position is Range C-30, $124,773.75 - $ 137,586.46

Position Overview

Calbright is working towards building a connected learning ecosystem that will provide improved learning experience and career outcomes for our students. Development of the connected learning ecosystem requires a cohesive approach across all departments to ensure we understand our students’ needs and build to solve their issues and challenges. To this end Calbright’s technology team is building several applications, enhancing automations, implementing integrations between internal and external systems for seamless flow of events and data. The Project Manager’s role will support these efforts by ensuring cross departmental communication, streamlining delivery process and translating business needs into tangible results.

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing division and cross-division projects, achieving timely and high quality deliverables and outcomes, strong collaboration, and running multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously. The Project Manager will work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to create project plans for ongoing and planned projects.

Key responsibilities include: defining project milestones and goals, identifying subject matter experts and project contributors to assemble collaborative project teams, developing detailed project plans, performing analyses to proactively mitigate risks, scheduling and facilitating project meetings, tracking progress and providing clear data dashboards for informed decision making by the team and Calbright leadership. Under the direction of the Director of Product Management, and working in conjunction with the management team, the Project Manager will identify cross-functional process improvement opportunities to ensure the College maximizes impact on student outcomes.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

The duties below are representative of the role and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed within the scope of work.

  • Manage the project development lifecycle from inception to launch. 
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of quality and delivery. 
  • Define project scope with key milestones and goals. 
  • Create and execute detailed project plans. 
  • Assemble project teams by identifying subject matter experts and project contributors with a focus on skills, perspectives, and technical expertise.
  • Manage project meetings with clear agendas, scheduling and facilitation.
  • Track project progress and support project team members in accomplishing their tasks by target dates as needed to stay on course to meet (and exceed) expectations. 
  • Perform ongoing analyses to inform the work, anticipate and help avoid potential obstacles. 
  • Conduct data-driven analyses to surface insightful feedback and recommendations.
  • Develop project dashboards and additional presentation materials as needed to enable informed decision making by the project team and Calbright leadership. 
  • Continuously update dashboards and project trackers. 
  • Build and maintain comprehensive project documentation. 
  • Develop plans for effective change management as needed with new implementations. 
  • Manage any changes to project scopes, schedules and costs using appropriate verification techniques. 
  • Manage project budgets as needed. 
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to execute on project deliverables and ensure progress on project goals and priorities. 
  • Identify cross-functional process improvement opportunities and establish processes and protocols as needed providing clear documentation.
  • Abide by all college policies and procedures. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned that support the objective of the position.

  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with project management software.
  • Proficiency in Asana, Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree from an accredited institution, AND
  • At least 4 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. 

Working Conditions and Travel

  • Calbright College is a statewide online college where all instruction and support are done via various online technologies both in person and remotely. Calbright College has administrative offices in Sacramento available for use. When working remotely, employees should be able and willing to use digital communication tools as used by the college, and have the ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.

  • Requires the ability to function in a remote online instructional environment performing work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires near visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens. Requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
