PLEASE NOTE: The starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $6,667.00 per month to $8,750.00 per month.

About the Position

This is a full-time, one-year temporary position, with the possibility of reappointment.

This position provides data and application integration between core applications and external third parties and connectivity between two or more third parties. This position applies advanced knowledge and broad understanding of technical architecture to develop, maintain, support, and scale multipurpose integration processes, platforms, and implements extensible API connectors. This position is also responsible for taking a proactive approach and agency to resolve the most complex issues encountered during planning, systems analysis, design, development, implementation and support phases.

The position collaborates with project manager(s), solution partner(s), other technical team members, CSU Chancellor's Office, and third-party vendors to deliver robust integrations with laser focus on data integrity.

Responsibilities

Responsible for leveraging modern integration tool(s) to enable multi-platform data and application integration for all products & solutions within the ITS ecosystem:

  • Implement, develop and configure integration solutions based on technology design specifications and analysis of needs.
  • Design service-oriented and discoverable Web services and APIs.
  • Support of best practices, standardization, and minimal customization.
  • Support security, reporting, maintenance, upgrades, capacity planning and performance, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to evolving ITS vision by implementing methodologies and procedures conforming to best practices.
  • Manage data analysis and data integration of disparate systems.
  • Build extensible data acquisition and integration solutions to meet the functional and non-functional requirements of the business.
  • Implement processes and logic to extract, transform, and distribute data across one or more data stores from various sources.
  • Optimize data integration platform to provide optimal performance under increasing data volumes.
  • Work with Analysts and Business Users to translate functional specifications into technical designs for implementation and deployment.
  • Convert physical data integration models and other design specifications to source codes.
  • Provide input and present new features, functionality, and future strategies for implementing and using new technology related to integrations.

Responsible for the administration and operation of the ITS integration platform (Boomi iPaas):

  • Hands-on deployment, maintenance, and administration of integration processes between applications across cloud ITS integration platform.
  • Manage, monitor, sustain, troubleshoot, support, and continuously improve existing architecture and platform.
  • Perform installation, administration, and management of the platform.
  • Design and execute load/stress tests.
  • Collaborate with the Chancellor's r's Office integration team to develop and support shared integration processes that can be leveraged across the CSU system.

Develop and maintain all technical documentation, including but not limited to:

  • Develop data integration standards according to ITS policies and best practices.
  • Technical specification document such as requirements, design, modifications, and enhancements.
  • Integration guides and configuration guides.
  • Test plans and test scripts.
  • Maintenance Pack and Upgrade/Release documentation.
  • Analysis/recommendation documents.

Other Duties as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; or equivalent combination of related education and relevant work experience.
  • Experience with integration tools (i.e. Boomi).

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in the administration and development of data integration processes between different applications.
  • Solid knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Programming techniques.
  • Proficiency in writing Apex code and triggers, lightning components, SOQL, SOSL, etc.
  • Knowledge in developing and implementing data and/application integrations.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases.
  • Knowledge and experience in using configurable integration tools, e.g. Dell Boomi, Mulesoft, etc.
  • Experience in web programming, database design, SQL, data integration as well as experience with scripting languages.
  • Experience with cloud/SaaS based products and integrating between them.
  • Experience in automated integration system testing. i.e. ability to test that the data we are pulling lands in the right place automatically without manually spot checking.
  • Ability to work with end users to define functional requirements and to translate those requirements into technical specifications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Creative problem solving and strategic thinking skills to improve processes and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to find solutions quickly and accurately.
  • Attention to detail in communicating technical issues and implementing solutions.
  • Customer service attitude and willingness to work in a cross functional team.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

  • Boomi Certification (i.e. Administrator, Developer).
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with Boomi.
  • Experience with XML, CSV, and other flat file integrations.
  • Experience with SQL, XSLT development.
  • Technical, first-hand experience developing and supporting Application Platform Integration (API) connectivity and multi-platform integrations using SOAP, RPC, REST, etc.
  • Experience integrating ERP and CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) with external systems.
  • Experience with scripted data loader, web services, cloud or on premise middleware and other enterprise integration technologies.
  • Strong understanding of best practices and testing practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills, debugging techniques, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, take the initiative, and work well under pressure.
  • Must be flexible and able to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Aptitude and desire to be a "hands-on" contributor with attention to detail is essential.
  • Desire and willingness to learn and implement new technology.
  • Experience in working for Higher Education, non-profit, or government environments.

Condition(s) of Employment

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including LiveScan, as appropriate), that may include, but is not limited to: criminal records check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certificates, credit history, professional references and/or verification of work history is required for employment.
