Chair Position, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Jefferson College of Pharmacy
The Jefferson College of Pharmacy (JCP) has an open Chair position for the Department of Pharmacy Practice in the Doctor of Pharmacy. The successful candidate will be a member of the college leadership team with responsibility to identify and implement opportunities to advance the college. The individual will need effective leadership and management skills in order to lead the faculty and operationalize the department. This position reports to the dean.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and management for all of the department’s strategic initiatives and operations,
- Develop clinical, teaching, and service partnerships with health care organizations and providers in the area,
- Provide oversight and support for the departments didactic and experiential curriculum; including course coordinator mentoring, review of course development, assessment, and other activities related to the curriculum,
- Recruit, hire, and retain faculty and staff in pharmacy practice and administration according to the needs of the program,
- Conduct annual reviews and make recommendations for salary and budgetary requests,
- Make recommendations and adjustment per workload assessment,
- Represent the Department on the Executive Committee,
- Engage in teaching, practice, and scholarship in areas of expertise and interest
Qualifications:
Education/Experience
Candidates from any pharmacy practice or pharmacy administration discipline will be considered.
Qualified applicants will hold a Doctor of Pharmacy, Ph.D. or other terminal degree.
Eligibility for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania, if applicable by degree type.
Candidates should have a record of academic teaching, scholarship, and service which will qualify for the rank of Professor, will consider Associate Professor.
Prefer candidates with previous leadership experience.
