Position Announcement

Bentley University, a private institution in Waltham, MA, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its next associate dean for student affairs – residential center, conduct, and care. This is an on-site leadership role.

The associate dean for student affairs will provide leadership and vision for the residential center and the student development, conduct, and care office, consistent with the mission and vision of the university and division. This includes assuring a high-quality residential experience for students, ensuring student cooperation and adherence to policies, and a coordinated and collaborative approach to students who need assistance. The associate dean supervises the director of the residential center and the director of student development, conduct, and care and oversees an operating budget of $2.5 million.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will hold a master's degree in student affairs, higher education administration, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a related field. The next associate dean will have a passion for holistic college student development and strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with excellent management and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated interest and experience with promoting social justice and working with marginalized, under-represented, and under-served groups is also required.
