Position Highlights
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks enthusiastic candidates who are interested in connecting students to experiences and higher education opportunities at the University of Arizona to apply for the position of Coordinator, School Relations. This role is responsible for engaging directly with prospective students and families, forming recruitment plans and activities to meet the stated enrollment goals of the University, and outreach activities with the Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD) and Arizona schools as assigned. The Coordinator, School Relations position fosters relationships with high school, counselors, administrators and advisors, community-based organizations, and other faculty and staff. This role supports prospective students and supporters through admissions processes, educational planning, financial aid, and enrollment services. Designated office space will be available at each SUSD counseling office for required days on site. Through interpreting academic, student services, and admissions policies and requirements, the Coordinator, School Relations is an effective communicator and creative problem solver, initiating proactive outreach efforts to prospective and incoming Wildcats. This role is responsible for bridging the SUSD community with the university and developing opportunities to assist in growing SUSD's college going culture. Duties & Responsibilities
1. Territory Management and Planning (25%)
Work independently and proactively to create and track an individualized recruitment and strategic plan based on targeted enrollment goals for assigned territories. Tracks progress toward goals and determines interventions and supports accordingly. Meets students where they are, traveling via personal, rental, assigned, or university vehicle to recruitment locations, requiring flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed. Minimal out of state recruitment travel can arise and will be notified in advance.
Manages recruitment territory, with a focus on Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD) and other assigned Arizona schools, with occasional travel to other parts of Arizona or nationally. Creates proactive initiatives, recruitment plans and activities that educate students and supporters on the opportunities available at University of Arizona through one-on-one conversations, provided and developed presentations, or tabling to audiences that vary in size and scope. Maintains active communication with supervisors and team regarding activities, territories, and needs.
2. Communication and Outreach (30%)
Actively and independently leads engagement with prospective students, counselors, parents and other constituents regarding the admission and enrollment process, procedures and related academic information. Supports directives and initiatives for the Arizona Recruitment team and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions recruitment efforts. This role involves a high level of SMS text, email, phone correspondence with active engagement and timely follow up required. Accurately records engagement, interactions, and work, successfully navigating multiple university systems of record and client relation management systems. Engages in a high level of customer service and student support, seeking out proactive opportunities to support students and their recruitment territory through the enrollment journey.
3. Strategic Recruitment (30%)
Serves as a resource specialist for communication of complex and sensitive information with respect to application, scholarship/financial aid, residency determination, academic requirements, and admission to the University. Advises students interpreting pathways to Arizona regarding academics, funding, admission, and opportunities, and utilizes excellent presentation, communication, and story telling abilities. Fosters relationships with SUSD community, schools, students, and stakeholders. Proactively seeks to understand the needs of the SUSD community and other territory assignments in order to meet recruitment goals. Creates and utilizes materials such as flyers, power points, and other resources to meet their territory needs and assist students in their path to Arizona investigates student issues, helps find solutions, and brings attention to supervisor as needed.
4. Relationship Building (15%)
Manages Sunnyside Unified School District (SUSD) relationship. Plans and collaborates with counselors, administrators, SUSD and university stakeholders. Develops and carries out activities with a focus on increasing a college-going culture. Communicates and partners with Arizona campus colleagues and departments in order to support SUSD enrollment and successfully carry out recruitment activities and programming.

- Ability to lift up to 20lbs
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional-level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Must have a valid driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and the ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual spoken and conversational Spanish.
