Position Summary:
The Department of Communication seeks a full-time non-tenure track faculty member to teach courses in social media, digital communication, and media law, with opportunities to develop courses in an additional area of research expertise. The successful candidate will teach four courses per term in fall, winter, and spring quarters, with possibilities for additional teaching in summer. Courses will include in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
The position begins September 25, 2024. Candidates who can start in January 2025 may also be considered if the position remains unfilled.
Western Oregon University provides visa support exclusively for Tenure Track employees in specialized positions with ongoing, long-term university appointments. This position does not qualify as specialized and is, therefore, not eligible for visa support.
Minimum Requirements:
● Minimum of a Master’s degree in Communication or a related field.
● Evidence of teaching excellence in social media, digital communication, and media law.
● Student-centered approach to teaching and mentoring, as well as a commitment to inclusion, collegiality and collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.
