Job Summary
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the pharmacist and operations of the pharmacy. This position will be essential for the pharmacy to run smoothly. The technician will be responsible for not only filling prescriptions and helping customers but also inventory management and administrative duties of our clinical services. There will also be opportunities each monthly to help teach students. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast pace environment, taking on new responsibilities, and helping others. Having someone who is efficient and friendly is essential to our success.
This position will serve not only to help the pharmacy manager but also as a trusted liaison to the community.
Scope
Support the Pharmacist by fielding phone calls and questions; inputting, processing, and filling prescriptions; managing inventory; and assisting with administrative duties of clinical services.
Principal Responsibilities
>= 18 years old
GED or high school diploma
Passed drug screen and background check
4+ years of customer service experience
Basic computer and phone skills
Ability to stand for 8 hours a day
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience as pharmacy technician
Certified Pharmacy technician (passed board certified examination)
Experience in inventory management

Scope
Support the Pharmacist by fielding phone calls and questions; inputting, processing, and filling prescriptions; managing inventory; and assisting with administrative duties of clinical services.
Principal Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Answer incoming phone calls and field patient questions
- Address customer service and insurance issues when they arise
- Assist the pharmacist with maintaining the ongoing medication inventory and returns.
- Receive prescriptions, check their validity, input, and calculating quantities and day supplies
- Manage daily medication ordering and returns
- Processing prescriptions electronically and ensuring all information is complete and accurate
- Prepare medications for pharmacist to dispense by generating labels, counting/measuring medications, and package accordingly.
- Sterilize surfaces and equipment and prepare the pharmacy for opening and closing
- Undertake administrative tasks (e.g. record-keeping) as assigned
- Aid in administrative duties associated with clinical services
- Administer vaccinations according to pharmacy protocol as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the pharmacist
