Assistant Professor of Accounting
Illinois College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Business department with a specialty in Accounting to begin in Fall 2025.
The primary responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses within the Accounting major and providing support for other Business majors, which together are the highest enrolled majors at the College. Preference will be given to candidates with a CPA license and experience in both undergraduate teaching and professional practice. The successful candidate will advise and mentor undergraduate students, particularly those preparing for careers in accounting and business. Engaging in scholarly activities and contributing to the ongoing development of the business programs at the College, including online offerings, are also key components of this role. Participation in departmental, college, and community service is expected.
Master’s degree in Accounting required; CPA license and professional experience strongly preferred.Candidates interested in full-time or part-time (⅔) contracts are encouraged to apply. Full-time faculty teach 3 courses per semester, and part-time (⅔) faculty teach 2 classes per semester. Both positions are benefits eligible. Courses will be taught primarily on-campus with some online courses possible.
